Building His CHURCH

Our Story

The Early Days

In the mid-1980’s, a few believers began meeting together with the goal of working together to plant a biblically faithful church that was serious about learning, living and sharing the Bible.

In 1989, one of that group, Craig Lloyd, left his practice as a medical doctor to train at The Master’s Seminary in Los Angeles.

He returned in 1993 with his wife Dena and together with some faithful families they planted Grace Bible Church.

We originally met Sunday afternoons in a rented church building in Rosalie.

In this period, the Lord began to add to our number and we felt the need for a church home where we could worship and use through the week for the various activities of a growing church.

Providentially, the Lord enabled us to buy a small church in Annerley. On December 16, 1994 we met for the first time in what was our first permanent church home.

In 1997 Dave D’Amour, who was Craig Lloyd’s roommate at seminary, joined the pastoral team.

By 1998 we had outgrown our Annerley facility and were looking to move.

Holland Park

In 1999 our Holland Park facility became available in what can only be described as a God-orchestrated opportunity.

It took us over a year to renovate the church. It was a wonderful time of fellowship and working together toward a common goal.

As our church grew we began to add interns and other pastoral staff.

By 2012, despite moving to two morning services and an evening service we found ourselves outgrowing our present facility.

We had to decide whether our next step was looking for a larger building or beginning to plant churches.

We decided that the best way to impact the kingdom was to plant other biblically faithful churches.

Corinda

In July 2013 one of the pastoral team, Ben Shannon, along with a group of faithful men and women went out and planted what became Grace Bible Church Corinda.

At that time the original church became known as Grace Bible Church Holland Park.

Logan

A growing number of members from the Logan area made the decision of where the next church plant should be an easy one.

Dave D’Amour began meeting with some very faithful men and women from the Logan area and in January 2018 planted Grace Bible Church Logan with the goal of being one of the churches reaching that area with the gospel of Jesus Christ.

Next

Our mission is:
To proclaim Christ, to equip and mature His saints, and to plant other churches who share our vision.

To this end, we are actively training men and women and praying for the next opportunity to plant a biblical church that can be a part of God’s plan to reach our nation.
